I think the Red Handed paper clip represents a "real life" thing. Having the ability to tell if someone is lying is helpful in real life situations. Say one is a law enforcment officer or something like that, it would be very useful to be able to tell if someone is hiding something from you.Also in other situations,such asbe able to sound truthful and not look like their lying. -Jamie Perry
I agree with Jamie, the Red Handed game was very difficult. The game showed us that its harder than you think to read people. Suprisingly, most of the class is pretty good liars. -Lauren Olson
I think that the hula-hoop pass represents a "real life" experience. It was an obstacle that we all had to go through, but it was easier for some of us than others. Many of us face the same obstacles everyday but we approach them differently or handle them differently. In addition, sometimes one time around it was easy for someone but the next time they were stuck. Showing that one person cannot always get through the obstacles in life easily. It was a challenge for everyone at one point. - Kelly Breen
I think "cross the bridge" is like real life because we all have obstacles in life that we have to overcome together, and as tempting as it is to disconnect, we just keep sticking together and helping eachother through things and communicating. All of the activities had to do with teamwork and sticking together, and i loved it! :)
The paper clip one, like previous comments say, represent real life. Unfortunately, there is a lot of deceit and lies floating deviously in this world. We never know if someone is who they say they are or if they really are telling the truth. This makes a wall of distrust.
The people in the middle took a long time, observing the face of their peers. How could they tell who had the paper clip, a small object? Faces could work, but people could always fake their emotions or look at someone else to shift the blame. Is their body language a tell-tale sign? No, a closed fist doesnt exactly mean they have anything in their hands. Only checking them for it yourself and knowing exactly what to look for when you think a person is lying.
It is in human nature to lie. We lie to avoid touble, to not hurt anyones feeling, or to get what we want. People will do whatever it takes sometimes.
We all knew where the paper clip was when it got passed around, but the person in the middle had no clue. They knew it was somewhere though, which makes this kind of like gossip in a way. Hurtful and spreading like wildfire, gossip is one of the worst things to be involved with.

Some of us went through head first, others jumped, and yet others went caustiously one leg at a time. And for every round, most people did not go through the hoop the same way, but changed according to the situation. I think this applies very well to real life. We were not allowed to disconnect but we still had to fit through the hula hoop. The only way to complete the challenge was to work together to smooth out the rough spots. That is exactly what needs to happen in life sometimes, you just need everyone else's help to smooth out the rough spots in life.

The "Cross the Bridge" activity is very applicable to life. When goiong across it was very tempting to disconnect and do it at our own pace. Instead we had to work together and rely on each other to do it right. The same is true for life. We can't do everything alone, we need the support and cooperation of other people.
Red Handed paper clip I thought was the most symbolic of everyday life. I am not gonna lie(even if i do its obvious), i am very bad at lying to people. and at this game i was the only one who got caught. So from that i think this whole game kindof shows how some people are good at lying and some arent. And also like Jamie said, its a game relating how observant you are of others around you. If you usually arent it may have been pretty hard to determine who had the paperclip.

In life many people are tempted to ignore these connections and break the links to isolate themselves within a certain group because they are comfortable with that. But if you hold on to the people around you or meet new people that you share something with it is possible that good things can come from it.

Sometimes you have a goal to reach, but sometimes people may be pulling you back from it, but you know you have to keep going, pulling them along with you instead of letting them pull you back to get to your goal. It can also be taken as withought those people there, you can't get to your goal.
It kind of showed that not everyone is as flexible as others, so people had to work together to find a pace that everyone was comfortable with to get to the end faster.
If you went to fast to get to the goal, others would break away from you and you can't get to your goal, if you go to slow, the person in front of you will break off and you have no direction to follow.

To me, the Red Handed paper clip activity was the most reflective of real life at our age. As teens, it can sometimes be hard to know who to trust. You may think you know your friends really well, but there are almost always situations (similar to the paper clip activity) where they may lie to you.
This game also shows how difficult it is to predict others' actions and how much more impossible it is to guess their thoughts. Besides showing us how much we need to be able to trust each other, it shows that we need to understand that other people have many more things going on in their lives than we can even fathom. We can't see inside others' heads, and for that reason we need to treat everyone with the utmost respect because we have no idea what they might be going through. -Lia Pagones

It tought us that it might be hard, but you have to pick up the slack from other students to do the best, and in real life it's like if you are at a job and you are friends with someone who isn't working their full potential, and it might be hurting you then you need to pick up their slack and doing it for them. In life, this is like how in a certain situation one could handle it easily, or some may struggle and take a little longer to handle it. Another thing was that we tried multiple rounds of passing it around and we progressively got faster. This is like in life when you come upon the same situation more that once, it'll become easier and easier to overcome.
The Hula Hoop pass represents a "real life" experience because in order for the group to successfully pass the hula hoop around the circle quickly and efficiently, everyone had to work together. Even after you had passed through the hula hoop yourself, you had to help the person next to you get through the hula hoop so it went faster. This relates to real life because if we want to accomplish some group project, everyone has to help each other and contribute. Even after your individual goal is met, you have to help the other people reach their own goal so the entire group endeavor is successful. - Neha Thomas
