I see myself most as Rodriguez because everyone feels bad for the underdog, in this case, Smalls. Whenever you see someone that everyone else teams up on, you always feel bad for that person and want to help them and that is how Benny was with Scotty.
I feel the most empathy for Scotty Smalls because he is a very relatable character. Everyone at one point had felt alienated from the "in" crowd. Especially in high school, this happens all the time.
I identify with Scotty Smalls the most because there have been times when I was new to a group and reluctant to join in just as Smalls was reluctant in joining the baseball players. Since I identify with Smalls the most I have the most empathy for him. I understand why he would feel reluctant to join in because I, like plenty of people, have been in the same position of trying to fit in but being scared of rejection. -Neha Thomas-
I identify myself most with Scotty because I understand what it feels like to be new in a group and not feel welcome. I moved three years ago to Palatine from Schaumburg and the adjustment was difficult.
I feel the most empathy for him also because I now how he feels being new to a place and not fitting in very well. It is hard to ajdust to new situations and that I why I can connect with his feelings. -Jamie Perry
I think I can relate myself to Rodriguez the most. He was the only one that took the chance to go over the fence and get the baseball himself when everyone else was afraid to. He was also very determined to get the baseball, even after everyone told him it was okay, and that he didn't have to do go get it.
I think I feel empathy for Scotty. Although he did steal the baseball, he felt very helpless and scared. I also felt bad when he didn't know what the whole group was talking about so he would pretend to understand, like when he didn't know Babe Ruth.
I can see myself most in Benny. Not because he's the leader or anything but because he seems like a guardian to me. He also sticks up for anyone, no matter what "crowd" they're in. I don't like seeing anyone get picked on because I've been there and I know what it's like. I'll include people in anything I'm doing just so that they don't feel left out.
I feel the most empathy for Smalls because he was definitely the underdog of this story. In the beginning of the movie, he didn't know how to catch or how to throw and all the kids made fun of him. Like I said before, I know what it's like to be the outcast so seeing a reflection of what used to happen to me makes me feel empathetic towards the person and if I can, I would like to help them.
i can relate the most with scotty because i used to always feel like the outcast but once i got to know the peopel around me, they welcomed me in. It's also like on the first day of class and you feel like the outcast, but after a while you start to make friends
but I feel the most empathy for scotty too. He gave up his step dads babe ruth ball just to have some fun, but lost it to the beast; he was so disappointed.
I would have to say that I most identify with Scotty Smalls becuase he just wants to fit in with the kids on the block. I think everyone can realte to that at one point in their life or another. At the same time, I feel the most empathy for Scotty becuase its really sad, in the beginning, when he wants his step dad to like him. -Lauren Olson
I identify the most with Smalls because there's been a few times when I felt like I didn't fit in. When I switched schools in third grade, I was really lonely the first day, but the next day someone came up to me and asked me to play with her. She is still one of my best friends.
I also have the most empathy for Smalls because I know exactly how it feels to be alone with no friends and have one person come along and change everything.
I see myself most as Smalls. This is because I use to not fit in at all, but once I started to know some kids I started to feel welcomed.
I also feel the most empathy for him, even though he lost the baseball. This is because he did not know the whole group of kids. Also, he did not know the whole group of kids.
I see myself mostly like Scotty Smalls because as a little kid I was always moving around and no one liked me at first because I sometimes would not make the best first impressions to the kids of the neightborhood.
That's why I can feel empathy for him because I know how he must have felt at first and why he took his step-dad's ball to make the kids like him.
1. This ones tough... I'd have to say Benny and Smalls. Smalls i can identify with because I know how it feels like to get into a new neigborhood( even a foreign one) and how it can be a bit nervous and scary at times. I also say Benny, because Benny is a good friend to everyonoe including Smalls when he first came to the town. Like him, I value my frineds and always try to help them if i can.
2."Repeat" Timmons for sure. From time to time I do have those moments where i just repeat what my other friends say. even when I have my own opinion I may become shy at times depending on the crowd i am in. Other cases I just simply agree with the opinion or the idea from the other member.
1. I most identify myself with Smalls. This is because I, like many others, have been in situations where you feel left out or shy when in a new surrounding, like he did when he first moved into the new neighborhood.
2. I also have the most empathy for him because of these same reasons. He is in a new place and just wants to be liked and accepted by the other kids. This is difficult for him at first, but he is able to find a way.
Rodriguez because you can tell he cares about other people. I would feel empathy for smalls. He has to ajust to life after life becuase he moves, trying to get along with other kids and making new friends. He has the prssure of fitting in,which conects to every envirnoment you will be in.
I think I would be most like Rodriguez. I often tend to try and lead groups and he was definitely the leader of the group. Also, he saw that Smalls didn't really have any friends so he decided to include him in his group of friends. I'd like to think if I was confronted with a similar situation, i do the same thing.
I feel the most empathy for Smalls because he is the new kid and he doesn't have too many friends. He also gets smacked in the eye with a baseball. Later, he really tries to fit in and be liked. To do this, he takes his stepdad's autographed baseball not knowing how valuable it was. It seems like the kid can't catch a break!
I identify myself with Rodriguez because I always try to be friends with the new kid or someone that's just standing there and doesn't fit in. I feel empathy for Smalls because I never fit in in grade school. I always wanted someone to be my friend.
I see myself as Smalls because there are a few times were I feel out of the group or like I dont belong. But once I put myself out there and get to know everyone, I feel welcomed.
Sometimes people are pressured to do something just to fit in. I feel the most empathy for Smalls because he wanted to be apart of something so bad that he gave them a Babe Ruth ball that was very important. In the end, they helped him to get it back which shows that they are really his friends.
I can identify myself as Benny Rodriguez because I see myself as natural born leader. I like to be the one in charge, but Im never really "bossy." I may not fit in with every group and not everyone may like me, but I make the best of each day. Being a leader means you have to be positive, ready to help out your fellow peers, and make sure you accomplish your goals.
I have the most empathy for Smalls because I also used to be the new kid when I was younger. I went to a few different schools and had to adapt. Many times, other kids picked on me, and I was miserable. What kept me going was my perseverance, positivity, and the friends that truly loved and cared about me.
I would be most like Rodriguez because I can't stand when someone picks on my friend or talks down to them. I would stand up to anyone if they were bothering my friend.
I feel the most empathy for Scotty because he is the one that gets picked on by the group. He is the outsider and I know how that feels. There are many times in my life when I felt like I didn't belong and just wanted to pick up and start over in a different town.

I indentify with Benny Rodriguez because I think everyone feels bad for the kid that is left out of the group and wants to help them.
I feel empathy for Scotty Smalls because I've moved 5 times in my life and everytime was challening for me to adjust to the new environment.
